"Ruka, you're gonna be late if you don't get going soon!"
Ruka was jumping around her room frantically, looking for the blue ribbon that went with her outfit. Not only had she woken up late that morning, but she was having a great deal of trouble finding everything. And it was even worse when her mother had even told her to get things ready the night before. But did she? Of course not.
"A-ha! There it is!" She declared as she found her ribbon, peaking out from behind her dresser. "I'm almost ready, Mom!" With a florish of ribbon zooming through the air, she slung it over her next and began to tie it as she rushed down the stairs, a small black sachel slung over her shoulder. Running over into the kitchen, where she was met by her mother and some cinnimon raisin bread. As she grabbed the bread, she hugged her mother and headed out of the room in a rush. She stopped in the doorway suddenly, almost losing her balance.
"Bye, Mom! I'll write to you in a few days and I'll come visit soon, okay?"
And with that, she was out the front door, running off towards her best friend's house. They had made a sort of pact to travel together on a gym-run, and so it was the day they'd all run off on their adventure. Munching on a slice of the bread as she ran, she was full of cheerfulness and couldn't wait for the rest of the day.
