These creatures are very much like werewolves. Monthly, on the night of the full moon, they will transform. All human instincts leave them and they are no longer human or wolf, but pure monsters. They do not care who they kill, for on that night, everything is their prey. Many times, they will travel in packs and such, seeing as most Lupenas are often rejected from society and tend to band together. They are very very loyal to each other, and though its difficult to get them to like humans, if you manage, they will be the most loyal, true friends you have. As long as you don't anger them and STAY AWAY on the night of the full moon. Because of their high danger, they are often killed as babies or as soon as they are bitten.
They are capable of switching between either a hybrid-ish form and a mightyena form. The females are dramatically smaller than the males. In general, male Lupenas are VERY large and strong, especially when pure. They average about 6'7" in their human form and weigh about 300+ lbs in their mightyena form. Males normally have the standard mightyena patterns with the grey and darker grey. The females, even the pure, are generally quite a bit smaller. In their human form, its very rare to find one over 5'6" and are usually only about 80+ lbs in their mightyena form. Unlike the males and normal mightyenas, the females are normally dark dark black, not grey.
There are three different classes of Lupena. Two are full Lupena, the other simply a half Lupena, only carrying a few of the traits.
There are only two ways to become a full Lupena, and one way to become a partial Lupena. You can either be the offspring of one. In these cases, it does not matter whether or not you have a human parent, seeing as the Lupena genes will always be the dominant traits. These are generally considered to be "Pure" Lupenas if born one. They tend to be more temperamental and aggressive, but can control their strength better. They generally only attack when they truly are angry. However, it is not difficult to anger one. In packs, they are generally the most dominant.
The second way to become a lupena is to be bitten at a young age. If bitten young, they will still be able to carry nearly all traits of a Pure Lupena. They are occasionally called by the term of "Dimienas" by the pure lupenas. They are generally far less temperamental than the Pures and are not near the strength of a Pure. For this reason, in the packs of them, the ones who became Lupenas from biting can never be the leaders of the pack. Though respected by the Pures, they are always the more submissive Omega ones. They will always pass on traits of Lupenas to their offspring.
The third way to become a Lupena is to be bitten at an older age, however, in these cases, you will not become a full Lupena. If a human, you will not show any signs of being one or be able to transform into a Mightyena except for on the full moon, when you become a wolf like the rest of them. Often, bitten humans don't even realize they are even Lupenas, considering no one can ever remember what happens to them on the night of the full moon when they are controlled completely by their wild instincts. If a pokemorph, you will show a few signs of being a Lupena. You will remain with the same pokemorph features as you had before, but often will be larger, have longer fur, longer teeth, and dark hair.
They too will transform in the moonlight, but they will basically just be a dark form of whatever Pokemon they are a morph of. They are VERY much weaker than the two classes of Pure lupenas and occasionally their bite can't even spread the curse. This class of Lupena is often shunned by the other two. They are also quite rare, seeing as if you are spotted by one, they generally won't allow you to transform. They'll normally just kill you there. This is the only form of Lupenas that can possibly be cured. They must kill the dog that had bitten them, cut off its head, and drink out the blood. Lupena traits may or may not be passed on to their offspring.
All three classes of Lupenas have one thing in common. This is their thirst for the blood of Felikites. Though they will also hunt humans or pokemon, the blood that they truly hunger for is Felikite blood. Just the scent often drives even the calmest, most docile of Lupenas insane, sending them into the same mode they go into on the Full Moon, where all they care about is hunting and killing their prey. They will also kill anyone that stands between them and their Felikite dinner. Everything about them is built for killing Felikites. They are quick enough to keep up and are a dark type, meaning they are immune to the most powerful Felikite attacks.
They prefer cold climate, coniferous forest terrain, but most can adapt to living anywhere.
